Yahyalı, in the Kayseri region, is known for rugs with strong red grounds and clear geometry, and this vintage piece shows both. A deep indigo diamond holds a cream hexagonal medallion on a crimson field, and each corner carries a small hooked motif. A wide mustard-gold border with repeating geometric symbols frames everything. The wool is thick and the colours are saturated. At about 3.2 by 5.4 feet it suits an entryway, a bedroom or a spot in front of a sofa.
