Woven in the Traditional Prayer Rug / Niche Motif style in soft, neutral / natural shades of Brown, Beige and Orange, this medium sized rug measures 4 ft 8 in x 3 ft 8 in (142.2 cms x 111.7 cms). Originally woven in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey in the mid 1900s from locally sourced and vegetable dyed sheep wool, this rug is a lovely example of traditional Village rug production. The rugs of this period and region are renowned for the dense, quite heavy pile and strong, bold colors which are typically used in their construction. Whilst not as finely woven as other rugs, these pieces were intended for daily use and are valued for their longevity and durability
