Measuring 5 ft 2 in x 3 ft 5 in (157.5 cms x 104.1 cms) this is a softly colored, traditional design rug handwoven in the Mucur district of the Kirsehir Province of Central Anatolia, Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 100 years ago. Historically, Kirsehir - Mucur was one of Anatolia’s wealthiest cities and most important Carpet weaving centres from the 13th to the 20th Century. Using the finest quality of locally sourced sheep wool, Turkish Konya rugs were woven closer to the style of Caucasian Kazak rugs than Greek or Turkish ones, with large, bold, geometric patterns woven in soft colors of red, yellow and beige vegetable dyed sheep wool.
