We are proud to offer this traditionally colored and intricately patterned Oriental Style Large Room sized Rug in Soft red and Blue, pink with green, white Floral Detail Accents. This is a very heavy rug weighing over 48 lbs / 22 kgs  and measuring 11'10''x 8'3'' in (365 cm x 253 cm) which was woven following "Heriz" style cultural traditions.
This is a magnificent example of the finest Oriental-influenced Oriental Carpets woven by Nomadic and Tribal Village Weavers in Far South Eastern Anatolia, Turkey in the mid 20th Century. The Central Medallion and intricate, floral and arabesque design motifs woven onto a single Deep Red color base in the main Central Field are complimented by contrasting White Quarter Panels and equally delicate, but more geometric Dark Blue Border Strips which are characteristic of the cultural influences which passed across borders and cultures during this time and explain why these rugs are more reminiscent of Oriental productions than Traditional Turkish ones.
These intricately patterned, top quality Oriental Rugs are quite unique and distinctive, representing one of the few styles of Oriental-influenced Oriental Carpets that merge both rural Village and township Workshop traditions and techniques.  Rug Weaving has always been a major cultural and domestic demonstration of the artistic creativity of the tribal and nomadic people of this area, and the intricate patterns and unique weaving/ knotting techniques have been traditionally proudly passed from one generation to the next, maintaining the heritage and history of the designs and techniques developed many Centuries ago.
Finely woven and intricately patterned, this rug is more influenced by the fine Oriental weavings intended for Commercial Trade to discerning European buyers than the more rudimentary utilitarian Village weavings made primarily for domestic use. The quality and condition of this rug is first class as the top-grade sheep wool colored by natural/vegetable dyes used in its' construction and the skill of the weaver have that ensured the longevity and beauty of the rug is preserved, even though it has most certainly "outlived" the shepherds, shearers, spinners, dyers, craftsmen and artists who all contributed to its' creation.
