Tekla — Vintage Oriental Large Area Rug

The rug features a prominent central medallion, a hallmark of Heriz designs. This medallion is often angular or geometric, as seen in the image. The design elements surrounding the medallion are highly geometric and stylized, another characteristic of Heriz rugs. You see the use of angular lines and shapes rather than flowing, curvilinear designs common in some other Oriental rug styles. The colors visible in the image, such as the various shades of red/pink, beige/brown, and hints of blue/green are consistent with typical Heriz palettes. Heriz rugs often utilize rich, earthy tones. The combination of the bold design, geometric patterns, and characteristic color palette strongly suggests a Heriz origin.
