Brown and Beige Antique Persian Rug 6'8'' x 3'6''
This rug measures 6'8''x 3'6'' (208 cms x 110 cms) and is a magnificent example of the finest Afghan-influenced Oriental Carpets woven by Nomadic and Tribal Village Weavers in Far South Eastern Anatolia, Turkey in the mid 20th Century.
This rug features repeated geometric / lozenge patterns, typical of this style, woven in soft shades of pink, beige and orange on a brown base.
Finely woven and intricately patterned, this rug is more influenced by the fine Oriental weavings intended for Commercial Trade to discerning European buyers than the more rudimentary, utilitarian Village weavings made primarily for local domestic use or household income support. The quality and condition of this rug is first class as the top-grade sheep wool colored by natural/vegetable dyes used in its' construction and the skill of the weaver have that ensured the longevity and beauty of the rug is preserved, even though it has most certainly "outlived" the shepherds, shearers, spinners, dyers, craftsmen and artists who all contributed to its' creation.
