Measuring 11 ft 3 in x 6 ft 2 in (342.9 cms x 187.9 cms) this Handmade, Vintage Wool, Flat-Weave Cicim Kilim Rug was woven in Balikesir Region of North Western, Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 40 years ago. Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This rug features traditional diamond motif design enhancement on a striped, flatweave background. Cicim rugs are not reversible and, generally, benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or high traffic areas
