This rug comes from Zara, a famous weaving district in the Sivas province of Central/Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. While Sivas city center is known for fine floral workshop carpets, the Zara district is celebrated for its incredibly authentic, geometric tribal rugs handwoven by local village and nomadic communities. The rug features a rich, deep cherry red field that makes the rest of the design pop. The geometric medallions are beautifully highlighted with bright pumpkin orange, soft turquoise blue, deep chocolate brown, and crisp ivory outlines.
