A very appealing Narrow Flatweave Kilim Vintage Turkish Hallway Runner Rug with Embroidered enhancement in Orange, This Kilim measures 9 ft x 1 ft 6 in (272 cms x 46 cms). 100% Handmade from locally sourced and naturally colored wool, this Kilim Rug was made in the Central Anatolia - Konya region, Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 60 years ago. Soumak Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This rug features traditional Zig-Zag design enhancement on a Plain flatweave background. Soumak rugs are not reversible and, generally, benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or high traffic areas
