It was woven using pure sheep wool and natural root dyes by Sarıkeçili nomads living in the Taurus Mountains in the Antalya region of Southern Turkey. The quality of the wool and the quality of the weaving are very good and local motifs were used in this carpet. These types of carpets were generally woven in the 1950s and the beautiful carpet is in excellent condition as it was kept in a dowry chest for many years.
