Measuring 6 ft 1 in x 4 ft 7 in (185.4 cms x 139.7 cms) this is aHandmade, Vintage Wool Flat-weave Cicim Kilim Rug, made in province of Balikesir in the Aegean/Marmara region of North Western Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 60 years ago. Balikesir Cicim rugs are characteristically plain or striped, flat weave rugs which are enhanced by the addition of "third yarn" embellishment / embroidery of decorative tribal designs and motifs. This creates an appealing textured look.This rug features traditional motif design enhancement in white, red, blue, green and orange on darkblackish- brown, flatweave background. However, due to this construction method, Cicim rugs are usually one-sided and not suited for reverse use. They also benefit from the use of a non-slip rug pad or underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces,
