Traditional design Antique Sivas Rug (Circa Mid 19th Century) inorange yellow purple, red Wool Flat Weave Rug, made in Central Anatolia Tribal Weavers up to 100 years ago. This lovely kilim was woven in the traditional nomadic fashion on a narrow loom in two sections which were later joined down the middle to form the complete rug. This practice is typical of village weavings where size and cost restrictions preclude the use of a very wide loom. The dimensions, being long and relatively narrow, of this kilim suggest it was woven for local, domestic use as a wall or floor covering in nomadic tents.
