This is a 100% Handmade, Vintage Wool Flat-weave Cicim (embroidered) Kilim Rug, made in the Central Anatolian Marmara region of Konya Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 60 years ago. Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This rug features traditional motif design enhancement in cream, green, orange, white and apricot on a striped flatweave background featuring the same colors. Cicim rugs are, generally, not reversible and may benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or high traffic areas
