A lovely, hand-knotted small mat, this piece probably began its' life as a floor / sleeping pillow or storage bag for everyday use in village homes or in tents on nomadic travels. This mat was originally woven in Central Anatolia, Turkey up to 60 years ago and is perfect for use in entry ways, in front of the sink in the kitchen or beside a bed etc. Softly colored, This particular rug is an Oushak Style / Pastel Wash Vintage Turkish Rug which has been “Color Reformed” and / or "Antique Washed" and the pile reduced to produce the faded / distressed “Vintage-Look” so popular at this time. These rugs combine a contemporary color palette with vintage design appeal.
