This rare vintage flatweave is a genuine Anatolian "Sofra" Kilim (Sofreh), traditionally woven by Yörük nomadic artisans in Turkey.
In traditional village life, a Sofra kilim served as a sacred floor covering for family gatherings and meals, symbolizing hospitality, abundance, and unity. Its unique design features a solid dark center field flanked by intricate, brocaded Cicim embroidery along the borders. The side panels feature geometric saw-tooth framing and tribal motifs designed to ward off the evil eye and bring blessings to the home.
Woven from 100% hand-spun organic wool using rich natural dyes (deep crimson red, charcoal black, and natural ivory), this square-form flatweave makes a dramatic wall hanging, statement area rug, or rustic accent piece for modern and bohemian interiors.
