They are traditional, hand-knotted rugs made in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri in Central Anatolia, Turkey. They are classic examples of Turkish village rugs. They are almost always made from 100% hand-spun wool (both the pile and the foundation). They use the Turkish (Gördes or symmetrical) double knot, which makes them very dense and durable.
