Turkish Kilim Rug 9 x 5 ft Orange Brown Vintage Southwestern Decor Handmade Wool Kilim, Antique Boho Rustic Aztec Design Persian Floor Rug

A very appealing Flatweave Kilim Vintage Turkish Rug woven in shades of Soft Terracotta, Orange, Brown, Grey/Green and White/Cream and measuring 5' 6" x 4' 1" (167 cms x 124 cms). This rug was Handwoven in the Southern Mediterranean region of Antalya, Turkey, around the 60's by VillageTribal weavers. Locally sourced sheep wool coloured by natural vegetable dyes was used to construct this Kilim which features a Traditional Design of Large Medallion Symbolic Motifs presented in the overall striped design.
A Feature of this rug is Cicim (embroidery) enhancement. Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This rug features traditional motif design enhancement on a striped, flatweave background. Cicim rugs are not reversible and, generally, benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or high traffic areas
