Handmade, Vintage Wool, Flat-Weave Cicim Kilim Hallway Runner Rug, woven in Balikesir Region of North Western, Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 40 years ago. This attractive Hallway Runner Rug measures 6 ft 8 in x 2 ft 5 in (203.2 cms x 73.6 cms). The basic Brown, Flatweave base rug has been “embroidered” with soft shades of Pink, Off White and Orange in a Traditional, repeated, geometric design. Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "Embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. Cicim rugs are generally one-sided (not reversible) and benefit from the use of a non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces.
