Handmade wool rug originally hand-woven in the town of Kayseri, located in Central Anatolia, Turkey over 60 years ago. Kayseri has a long and rich history as one of the finest carpet making Villages in the region. In order to achieve the intricate floral designs for which carpets are renowned, these rugs are often woven from natural, locally sourced hand-spun sheep wool colored with natural, vegetable dyes on a cotton foundation. This Rug has has been “color reformed” / “sun faded” and / or “overdyed” and the pile reduced to produce the muted / distressed “Vintage" appearance so popular for interior home decoration at this time.,These rugs combine a contemporary color palette with vintage design appeal. The reduced pile allows for flexibility of placement under furniture and ease of cleaning.
