This is a finely woven and strongly vegetable colored 100% Handmade, Vintage Wool Flat-weave Kilim which was was made in the Hafik region in the city of Sivas in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 60 years ago.
A Feature of this rug is Cicim (embroidery) enhancement. Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This rug features traditional motif design enhancement on a striped, flatweave background. Cicim rugs are not reversible and, generally, benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or high traffic areas
