Description
Wonderful example of early 20th Century Tribal weaving, this is an Antique Tribal Caucasian Kuba Kilim Rug, Circa 1920. Kuba rugs and carpets are named for a town that is located in Azerbaijan Republic not far from the Caspian Sea and, therefore, Kubas are considered to be a sub-division of Caucasian carpets. The design motifs replicate the lozenge / geometric patterns found in most Caucasian Rugs with "all-over" patterns replicated in a uniform manner.
