A beautiful example of Turkish Village weaving, this Bergama carpet, was handwoven in the Bergama region of Western Turkey in the 1930s. Typical of Bergama designs of the 19th and early 20th Centuries., this rug features the bold patterns, usually in red, blue, and white, and central medallions / diamond designs often attributed to the wreath motif seen in Ottoman Court prayer rugs of the 17th Century
